Darren Hargan and Adam Johnson conduct an ambitious new fully-staged production fully staged production of Benjamin Britten's magnificent opera A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Jennifer Hamilton, as part of Familiar Fields, the East Anglian celebrations
of the centenary of Britten's birth.  The production, which is the culmination of the Yorke Trust's annual summer opera course, involves pupils from Gresham's School in Holt and the Chermond School of Gymnastics in Norwich. Auditions are being held in London on 2 February 2013.  The closing date for applications was 1 November, but late applications may be considered in exceptional circumstances.




During the performance weekend a Britten Centenary Seminar is being run to include open rehearsals, masterclasses, talks and concerts focusing on Britten and his life, and particularly the evolution and early performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream including reminiscences from some people involved with the original Aldeburgh production.  Full details to be announced.
